Bedknobs and Broomsticks

Ok, so this isn't really about bedknobs or broomsticks. I just liked the title. And it's a good movie. Needless to say, there have been a lot of changes in the Price family over the last few days. As we're sitting here with Sarah's parents watching "Walk the Line" and Joe's polishing off a bottle from his grandma, it's a good time to take in everything that's gone on.

First off, I think Sarah writes a more interesting blog. She's better at it.

Second, we now know what it's like to have a sick infant. Last week Joe started coughing and sneezing. So we took him to the doctor (we got to find out what stuff costs when your insurance isn't taken in certain areas...that was fun) and he had some redness in one of his ears. So they put him on an anti-biotic. He seemed better over the next few days, but then a couple of days ago he started pulling on both his ears. Not good. So I took him to the doctor again today. Neither of the ears were red, but there was fluid in one, so they gave us drops to put in his ears. It's hard to put drops in itty bitty baby ear holes. Especially when he's flailing around. But now he's full and pretty much out of it, so it's easier. So that's Joe.

Sarah started her fieldwork this week. It's a long, early drive to Lexington (about an hour, and she has to be in around 7). Her first three days consisted of Orientation-type stuff. Videos, tours, that type of stuff. She's excited about her fieldwork. She likes her supervisor, Tina. The next three months are going to be full of learning and experience. She gets home around 4:30 every day, so it's nice that she's home the whole evening. She'll have to work a few weekends and holidays, so that stinks. But it'll be worth it.

I don't have a job yet, but I actually have an interview tomorrow. It's very exciting. I'm not sure whether or not it'll turn into a job, but we just keep praying. If God wants us to be at this church, then we'll be there. If not, then he'll lead us somewhere else. But we'll definitely keep you posted about that.

I think that's it. Leave a comment. It'd mean a lot to us!

Updates from Bart

Well, I haven't posted anything since my glasses broke. So for those out there who have been waiting on the edge of their seats to find out how it turns out...I have new glasses. They're, as Sarah calls them, "Drew Carey" glasses. I prefer "Rob Bell" glasses, but whatever. I don't have a picture of me wearing them yet, but when I do, it'll be posted.

Still no job yet. There have been a few leads. There is one preaching job really close to here that I'm very interested in. I just don't know if they're interested in me. I'm definitely learning about having faith in God to provide something for me. This situation led me to Matthew, where Jesus talks about how God takes care of the birds, and how we shouldn't worry about what tomorrow is going to bring. It's what I need to do, but it's hard to put it in to practice. All I can do is continue to pray at this point. I'll let you know if something comes up!

One More Week...

One more week until I start my fieldwork. I am very excited, but still pretty nervous!!
We had a good weekend, On Friday we took Joe to his first baseball game (the Lexington Legends) he was so cute in his little baseball hat!!
We got to go see Bart's mom and dad on Saturday. It was good to see them and know that they were so close! On Sunday we went to Lebanon Christian Church (one of the churches that has a job opening).
Today was pretty busy. Mom, Emily, myself, Austyn and Joe all went to run errands and we had some very tired babies when we got home this afternoon.
Joe has been having belly issues the past few days...he won't eat all this bottle and screams when we try to feed him. I just feel so bad because I know that his belly is hurting him.... I just hope it gets better soon!
Thats all for now...

Many of you all already know, but we moved up to Kentucky because I have six months of fieldwork at Cardinal Hill in Lexington. I can't wait to get started...just another week and a half. Bart has had an exciting couple of days. He has been contacted by two different churches about job opportunities here locally. We have just been praying and letting God lead. We know he is going to provide in his time. Joe is exhausted...he has had a busy day, playing with Austyn, eating, getting a bath, sleeping and wrestling with Granddaddy. Right now he is sitting on the couch with Daddy....just relaxing. He has started to try to sit up when we are changing him on the table...he has been raising his head up like, " let me up off of here!"

Broken Glasses

Second day in Kentucky...my glasses are broken. The frame on one side of my nosepiece (just to the side of it, not actually on the nosepiece) broke. So now I'm holding it together with "glue dots." I've got them on every corner. It's really classy. So I went with Sarah to Wal-Mart today to get new frames and contacts. My eyes did not like the contacts. I had a time getting them in, then my eyes got irritated once they were in. And the frames won't be in until next week. Needless to say...it's not fun. Ok...that's all. - Bart

Yah for our first blog!! Bear with us...I (Sarah) am not very good at this stuff, but we will figure it out eventually! Today is our first full day as Kentuckians. It's been busy! We have everything in the basement...and we have been trying to find where everything is! Joe and Austyn have spent most of the day together, going for car and golfcart rides, eating and sleeping! Joe slept through most of the morning while we were moving things in around him...I think the move has worn him out!
